Telstar play at the BUKO Stadion, also known as Sportpark Schoonenberg, in Velsen-Zuid. The ground opened in 1948 and was expanded with new stands in 2025. It holds about 6,000, making it one of the smallest grounds in the Eredivisie. You can reach it on R-net bus 382 from Amsterdam Sloterdijk or route 385 from Haarlem. Because the ground is small, tickets against big clubs such as Ajax, Feyenoord and PSV go quickly.

The BUKO Stadion is the home of Telstar, the club from Velsen formed in 1963 through a merger of VSV and Stormvogels. The club are named after the Telstar satellite from that year and are popularly known as the Witte Leeuwen, the White Lions, after their white kit. The ground opened in 1948 as Sportpark Schoonenberg. In 2025 Telstar returned to the Eredivisie after 47 years; since then the ground has gained a new north stand, an away section and a natural grass pitch.
The atmosphere is that of a proper club ground: small, close to the pitch and a little bit English. The players come out to Telstar by The Tornados. A tradition of its own is the mandjes: with every Telstar goal a fish basket goes up, as it once did in the fishing town of IJmuiden. When the big Eredivisie clubs visit, the ground fills up quickly.
Velsen lies on the North Sea Canal, between Haarlem, Amsterdam and the coast at IJmuiden. Schiphol Airport is some 30 kilometres away; take the train to Amsterdam Sloterdijk or Haarlem and change to the bus there. We can put together a tailor-made football trip with ticket, accommodation and transport. Tickets for ordinary league matches are often available; for the big matches it is different. We arrange official tickets and hospitality with a confirmed seat.
The BUKO Stadion is in Velsen-Zuid, on the south side of the North Sea Canal, on the edge of Zuid-Kennemerland National Park. Haarlem is about 9 kilometres away. There is no railway station near the ground. R-net bus 382 runs from Amsterdam Sloterdijk to Velsen-Zuid and IJmuiden; route 385 runs from Haarlem to IJmuiden. From the bus stop it is about a ten-minute walk to the ground.
At Telstar, hospitality is based in the business seats and corporate areas of the ground. The difference with a regular ticket is the seat and the service: a good seat, food and drink before and after the match and a quiet place to host guests. In a small ground you are always close to the pitch. The number of places is limited, so a package with a confirmed seat gives certainty.
This is the lowest price per type in our current range. The two figures may come from different fixtures, as prices vary considerably by opponent.
Come well before kick-off, as the roads around Velsen-Zuid and the Velsertunnel can be busy on matchdays. By public transport, the bus from Amsterdam Sloterdijk or Haarlem is the most convenient route; plan your return journey in good time, especially for an evening match. If you are coming from abroad, fly into Schiphol and continue by train and bus. We can arrange ticket, accommodation and transport together as a tailor-made football trip. If you want to make a day of it, Haarlem, Amsterdam and the beach at IJmuiden are close by.
For ordinary league matches there is often availability. The ground is small, so for matches against Ajax, Feyenoord, PSV and AZ they go quickly; a package with a confirmed seat gives certainty then.
The price varies by opponent and by stand. This page shows the current from-price per type once we have availability for a match.

After the 2025 expansion it holds about 6,000. That makes it one of the smallest grounds in the Eredivisie, with the stands close to the pitch.
With every Telstar goal, a fish basket goes up next to the scoreboard. It is an old custom from the fishing town of IJmuiden, which the club have brought back.
