About Excelsior

Stadion Woudestein is one of the smallest grounds in the Eredivisie and the home of Excelsior, Rotterdam's third professional club. The club have played here since their founding in 1902. Around 2000 the ground got new stands, and since 2010 it has had an artificial pitch. It holds about 4,500. One stand is named after Robin van Persie, who played in the Excelsior youth set-up.

The big matches are the Rotterdam derbies against Feyenoord and Sparta, and the games against the major Eredivisie clubs. Because the ground is small, you sit close to the pitch wherever you are. That creates an atmosphere you will not find in a large stadium.

Rotterdam is easy to reach. The Intercity runs direct from Schiphol to Rotterdam Centraal in about 25 minutes, and the Eurostar links the city directly with Antwerp, Brussels, Paris and London. Rotterdam The Hague Airport is about 15 minutes from the centre. We can put together a tailor-made football trip with ticket, accommodation and transport. Tickets for ordinary league matches are often available; for the big matches it is different. We arrange official tickets and hospitality with a confirmed seat.

Stadion Woudestein is on the Honingerdijk in Kralingen, in the east of Rotterdam, some three kilometres from the centre. The ground borders the Erasmus University's Woudestein campus and lies close to the Maas. From Rotterdam Centraal, trams 1 and 11 run towards De Esch; you get off at the Woudestein stop. Tram 7 runs to the Burgemeester Oudlaan stop, also within walking distance. By metro, travel to Kralingse Zoom station, about a ten-minute walk away.

Hospitality at Excelsior

At Excelsior, hospitality is based in the business seats and business areas of the ground. The difference with a regular ticket is the seat and the service: a good seat in the main stand and food and drink before and after the match. In a small ground like Woudestein you sit close to the pitch and the atmosphere is personal. That makes it a pleasant way to experience a match, especially for a corporate guest or a group.

  • Regular tickets from € 220 per person (indication)

This is the lowest price per type in our current range. The two figures may come from different fixtures, as prices vary considerably by opponent.

Practical information for matchday

Come well before kick-off and travel by tram or metro. On matchdays, parking at the ground is only possible with a parking permit, and the surrounding streets are paid and busy. After the match the trams are full; the metro at Kralingse Zoom is a good alternative. If you are coming from further afield, take the train to Rotterdam Centraal or fly into Schiphol or Rotterdam The Hague Airport. We can arrange ticket, accommodation and transport together in a tailor-made football trip. If you want to make a day of it, the Markthal, the Erasmus Bridge and the Kralingse Bos are close by.
