The Europa-Park Stadion has been the home of SC Freiburg since October 2021. Before that the club played for almost 67 years at the old stadium on the Dreisam, close to the centre. The new ground holds 34,700, almost 10,000 more than the old one. Because it is next to an airfield, the roof is built low and flat.
The atmosphere comes mainly from the large standing terrace on the south side, where almost 9,000 supporters stand in one continuous section. The match against VfB Stuttgart is called the Baden-Württemberg-Derby; visits from Bayern Munich and Borussia Dortmund also fill the ground.
For a visitor, Freiburg is a pleasant destination: a historic centre, the edge of the Black Forest and a ground that is easy to reach by tram and train. The nearest major airport is EuroAirport Basel-Mulhouse-Freiburg, with a bus to the main station. We can put together a tailor-made football trip with ticket, accommodation and transport. Tickets for ordinary league matches are sometimes available; for the big matches it is different. We arrange official tickets and hospitality with a confirmed seat.
The Europa-Park Stadion is in the Brühl district, in the north-west of Freiburg, next to the airfield and the exhibition grounds. On matchdays extra trams run to the Europa-Park Stadion stop, including from Bertoldsbrunnen in the centre via the main station. From that stop it is about a ten-minute walk to the ground. The S-Bahn takes a few minutes from the main station to Messe/Universität; from there it is a short walk.
At SC Freiburg, hospitality is based in the business seats and lounges of the ground. The difference with a regular ticket is the seat and the service: a good seat, a separate entrance and food and drink in a lounge before and after the match. In a modern ground like this it is a comfortable way to experience the game, especially for a corporate guest or a group.
This is the lowest price per type in our current range. The two figures may come from different fixtures, as prices vary considerably by opponent.
Come well before kick-off; the ground opens about two hours beforehand. Travel by tram, S-Bahn or bike, as parking at the ground is limited and often only possible with a space booked in advance. According to the club, a match ticket entitles you to a free return journey by tram on matchday; check on your ticket whether this applies to you. A bus runs from EuroAirport Basel-Mulhouse-Freiburg to Freiburg, and there are frequent trains from Frankfurt. We can combine that with ticket and accommodation in a tailor-made football trip. If you want to make a day of it, the Minster and the old town are a short tram ride away.
For ordinary league matches there is sometimes availability. For matches against Bayern Munich, Borussia Dortmund and VfB Stuttgart they go quickly; a package with a confirmed seat gives certainty then.
The price varies by opponent and by stand. This page shows the current from-price per type once we have availability for a match.
On matchdays extra trams run from the centre and the main station to the Europa-Park Stadion stop, about a ten-minute walk from the entrance. You can also take the S-Bahn to Messe/Universität and walk the last stretch.
On the south stand. It is one continuous standing terrace with room for almost 9,000 supporters. That is where most of the noise comes from.
