About FC Schalke 04

The Veltins-Arena is the home of FC Schalke 04, one of the biggest and best-loved clubs in Germany. The ground opened in 2001 and replaced the old Parkstadion. It has a retractable roof and a pitch that slides out of the stadium. It hosted the 2004 Champions League final and matches at the 2006 World Cup and Euro 2024. Since 2026 Schalke have been back in the Bundesliga.

Schalke are a club from the Ruhr, a region with a long history of coal mining. You can see that in the stadium: before the match the miners' song is played, and the Nordkurve makes for a packed, loud stand. The biggest match of the year is the Revierderby against Borussia Dortmund, some thirty kilometres away.

For a visitor, Gelsenkirchen combines well with a weekend in the Ruhr. Tickets for ordinary league matches are often available; for the big matches it is different. We arrange official tickets and hospitality with a confirmed seat.

The Veltins-Arena is on the Berger Feld in the north of Gelsenkirchen, between the A2 and A42 motorways, about six kilometres from the centre. There are large car parks around the stadium.

Hospitality at FC Schalke 04

At Schalke, hospitality is based in the business seats and boxes of the ground. The difference with a regular ticket is the seat and the service: a good seat, a separate entrance and food and drink in a lounge before and after the match. In a stadium of this size it is a comfortable way to experience the game, especially for a corporate guest or a group.

  • Regular tickets from € 187 per person (indication)

This is the lowest price per type in our current range. The two figures may come from different fixtures, as prices vary considerably by opponent.

Practical information for matchday

Come well before kick-off; the gates open two hours before the match. For football matches your ticket also counts as a travel pass throughout the VRR area, so the tram from the station costs nothing extra. Better not to bring a large bag; bags bigger than A4 are discouraged. After the match the tram stop is busy, so allow for some waiting time. If you want to make a day of it, Essen, Bochum and Dortmund are a short train ride away.
