About Sassuolo

The Mapei Stadium opened in 1995 as the Stadio Giglio and was the first club stadium in Italy built without public money. Since 2013 it has been owned by Mapei, the company behind Sassuolo. It holds just over 21,000, close to the pitch. Among other matches, the ground hosted the 2021 Coppa Italia final.

Sassuolo, nicknamed the Neroverdi after their black and green club colours, play in Serie A in the 2026/27 season. The club already played European football in the Europa League in 2016/17. A match with extra edge is the Emilian derby against Bologna. When Juventus, Inter or Milan visit, the ground is well filled too.

For a visitor, Reggio Emilia is a pleasant destination: an old city with squares and arcades, between Parma and Modena. The city has a high-speed railway station, Reggio Emilia AV Mediopadana, and Bologna Airport is about 70 kilometres away. We can put together a tailor-made football trip with ticket, accommodation and transport. Tickets for ordinary league matches are often available; for the big matches it is different. We arrange official tickets and hospitality with a confirmed seat.

Hospitality at Sassuolo

At Sassuolo, hospitality is based in the skyboxes and lounges of the Mapei Stadium, including the Mapei Lounge. The difference with a regular ticket is the seat and the service: a good seat in the main stand, a separate entrance and food and drink in a lounge before and after the match. It is a comfortable way to experience the game, especially for a corporate guest or a group.

If you are arriving by train, the high-speed train stops at Reggio Emilia AV Mediopadana; from Bologna Airport take the train via Bologna Centrale to Reggio Emilia. If you want to make a day of it, the historic centre of Reggio Emilia and the cities of Parma and Modena are close by.
