About Lecce

The Stadio Via del Mare is the home of US Lecce, the club of the Salento, the southernmost tip of Puglia. The ground opened in 1966 and since 2002 has officially carried the name of former mayor Ettore Giardiniero. It holds just over 30,000, in red and yellow seats, the club's colours.

Lecce play in Serie A in the 2026/27 season. The games against the big clubs from the north are then the highlights of the year. The great rivals are Bari; the Derby di Puglia is only on the fixture list when both clubs are in the same division. The atmosphere comes mainly from the Curva Nord, home of the most passionate supporters.

For a visitor, Lecce is a pleasant destination: a baroque old town, warm weather until late in the year and the sea close by. Tickets for ordinary league matches are often available; for the big matches it is different. We arrange official tickets and hospitality with a confirmed seat.

The Stadio Via del Mare is on the north-eastern edge of Lecce, along the road to the coast at San Cataldo. That is also where the name comes from: the road to the sea. It is about 3 kilometres from the old town and about 5 kilometres from the railway station. SGM city bus S16 runs from the centre to the stadium; routes R4 and R5 also stop nearby. By car, take exit 7A from the ring road.

Hospitality at Lecce

At US Lecce, hospitality is based in the business seats and sky boxes of the main stand. The difference with a regular ticket is the seat and the service: a good seat, a separate entrance and food and drink before and after the match. In a stadium with this atmosphere it is a comfortable way to experience the game, especially for a corporate guest or a group.

Practical information for matchday

Come well before kick-off. On matchdays extra SGM shuttle buses run from a few hours before the start; you can buy a bus ticket in advance via an app or at a sales point. If you come by car, expect heavy traffic around the ring road, especially in summer when tourists are in the region too. The stadium has been undergoing renovation since 2025 and is getting a full roof for the first time. If you want to make a day of it, the baroque centre and the coast at San Cataldo are close by.
