About the FA Cup

The FA Cup owes its reputation to the possibility of a small club knocking out a large one. Because every level takes part, each season produces ties that would never occur in league football: a lower-division club hosting a Premier League side in a ground holding a few thousand.

For a visitor that makes the competition unpredictable to plan around. Each round is drawn, and only then are the ties and dates confirmed. Matches usually fall at weekends, with evening fixtures where required.

In the early rounds many clubs have general availability, including sides whose league fixtures are out of reach. From the later rounds interest rises sharply, and the final at Wembley has its own distribution through the two finalists.

For FA Cup matches we arrange regular tickets and, where clubs offer it, hospitality. In the early rounds many clubs have room. Bear in mind that the date is only fixed once the round has been drawn, so a trip can only be finalised at relatively short notice.
