About Gent

When it opened in 2013, the Planet Group Arena was the first newly built football stadium in Belgium since 1974. It is a modern ground with just over 20,000 covered seats, close to the pitch. Until 2023 it was called the Ghelamco Arena; since 2024 it has been the Planet Group Arena.

KAA Gent play in the Belgian First Division and are nicknamed the Buffaloes, after Buffalo Bill's Wild West show, which once performed in Ghent. The club became Belgian champions for the first time in 2015 and went on to play in the Champions League. The biggest match of the year is the one against Club Brugge, the battle between the two big clubs of Flanders.

For a visitor, Ghent is a strong destination: a historic city centre with canals and towers, and a ground that is easy to reach by train and bus. From Brussels Airport a direct train runs to Ghent in about three quarters of an hour. We can put together a tailor-made football trip with ticket, accommodation and transport. Tickets for ordinary league matches are often available; for the big matches it is different. We arrange official tickets and hospitality with a confirmed seat.

The stadium complex also houses offices, a supermarket and a restaurant.

Hospitality at Gent

At KAA Gent, hospitality is based in the business seats, the business lounge and the skyboxes of the ground. The difference with a regular ticket is the seat and the service: a good seat, a separate entrance and food and drink in a lounge before and after the match. In a compact stadium like this you sit close to the pitch, which makes it a comfortable way to experience the game, especially for a corporate guest or a group.

  • Hospitality from € 160 per person (indication)
  • Regular tickets from € 30 per person (indication)

This is the lowest price per type in our current range. The two figures may come from different fixtures, as prices vary considerably by opponent.

Practical information for matchday

Come well before kick-off. If you travel by public transport, take the train to Gent-Sint-Pieters and the bus to the ground from there. There is parking at the stadium, but after the match the roads and the nearby motorways are busy. If you are coming from further afield, a direct train runs from Brussels Airport to Ghent; we can combine ticket, accommodation and transport for you in a tailor-made football trip. If you want to make a day of it, the Graslei, the Gravensteen and St Bavo's Cathedral are in the city centre.
