For us Italy comes down to Milan, where AC Milan and Internazionale both play at the San Siro. That means a home fixture almost every weekend in the same stadium. Allow two to three days, because the Serie A often plays in the evening.

Italian football has a reputation for tactics and patience, but inside the ground it is mostly loud.
Italian stadiums are built steep and enclosed, which keeps the noise in. The curve behind each goal is where the atmosphere comes from, with banners, flags and singing that carries on through the whole match.
The San Siro in Milan is the best-known example of that, and also the most unusual address in Europe: two leading clubs sharing the same ground. One weekend red and black, the next blue and black.
What you should know before you book: Italy is stricter about tickets than most countries. Tickets are often issued in the holder's name, and that name is checked at the turnstile. It is not a formality.
The competitions
The Serie A has twenty clubs and runs from mid-August to the end of May. Matches are spread across the weekend, with many kicking off at 20:45.
Each round is scheduled separately and confirmed some weeks beforehand. Comparable to Spain, so shorter notice than in England.
Our range for Italy is decent: after the Premier League, the Serie A is the competition our supplier has the most fixtures for. So beyond Milan there are regularly matches available in other Italian cities, even though we do not have a city page for those yet.
For European fixtures involving Italian clubs we cannot supply tickets at present.
Practical
Milan has three airports. Linate is the closest, Malpensa has the most flights, and Bergamo is cheaper but costs an extra hour of travel.
The most important practical point is name registration. At many Italian matches tickets are issued in the holder's name and your identification is checked at the entrance. We therefore need the details of everyone travelling well before the match, and they have to match the document you bring.
Do not eat right before an evening match; dinner in Italy starts late and the city only really gets going after the final whistle.

Why do Italian tickets have to be in your name?
Italy applies stricter rules on stadium access than most countries. At many matches the ticket is issued in the holder's name and your identification is checked at the turnstile. We therefore need the names of everyone travelling in good time.
Do AC Milan and Inter really play in the same stadium?
Yes, both clubs play their home matches at the San Siro. Usually one club is at home one weekend and the other the weekend after, so there is nearly always a home fixture.
How many days do I need?
Two to three days. The Serie A often kicks off at 20:45, so you need the evening and the night that follows. With three days you also see something of the city.
Do you have fixtures outside Milan?
Yes. After the Premier League, the Serie A is the competition we have the most fixtures for, so there is regularly availability in other Italian cities. Do ask about a specific match.
When will I know the kick-off time?
Usually some weeks beforehand, when the round is finalised. Your tickets remain valid if it changes and we adjust the hotel and transport for you.
