Some matches are more than ninety minutes of football. Manchester United against Liverpool in the FA Cup quarter-final was one of them. For a listed company we organised a fully hosted hospitality trip for clients from the Netherlands and England.

The football weekend had been in the diary for a long time. Only the fixture still had to be confirmed. That it turned out to be this classic made the trip all the more special.

The trip started at home

The experience began before departure. A few days before the weekend, every guest received an official Manchester United scarf at home. A small gesture, but it created anticipation and made clear this would not be a standard football trip.

For the Dutch guests we arranged an early flight to Manchester, followed by a private transfer straight to Old Trafford. The English guests received a parking pass in advance and could walk to the ground from the car park.

Every guest already had their match ticket digitally, with clear instructions about the meeting point and the schedule. That way the day could start in a relaxed mood.

Guests were received through the main entrance and taken to the Directors’ Box. A table for eight was set and ready. Each place had a welcome pack with an official Manchester United mug and a fan magazine, and the first drink was poured straight away.

Before kick-off, club legend Bryan Robson talked through what to expect. World heavyweight boxing champion Tyson Fury appeared as a special guest and gave his own prediction in his own style.

The view from the seats

Before the stadium filled up, there was time to see the seats. Central, on the halfway line, with a perfect view of the pitch. There was plenty of time to photograph an empty Old Trafford, something you rarely get to see.

The group then returned to the hospitality area for dinner, in good time for kick-off.

A match for the history books

What followed went into the history books. Manchester United won 4-3 after extra time in a remarkable quarter-final. Amad Diallo settled it deep in extra time, in the 121st minute, and Old Trafford erupted.

For the guests present, it was a football experience they will not forget.

After the final whistle

The mood was jubilant. Guests spent well over an hour in the hospitality area talking the match through, and the evening continued at the hotel. Conversations started spontaneously with international guests from other companies.

Those unexpected encounters are what make an exclusive football trip special. Football connects people, at home and internationally.

The next morning we took every guest travelling back to the Netherlands to Manchester Airport by transfer.

What this shows

This trip shows exactly what we stand for. Not just arranging tickets, flights and hotels, but creating a complete football experience.

From a personal welcome before departure to exclusive hospitality, carefully organised transfers and guidance on the ground. Every detail is aimed at delivering an unforgettable experience.
