The Stade Joseph Marien is one of the oldest football grounds in Belgium and the home of Union Saint-Gilloise, a club founded in 1897. The stadium opened in 1919 and played a part in the 1920 Olympic Games. During the 1926 rebuild it gained an Art Deco facade with sculptures, which is now a listed monument. After a renovation in 2018 it holds just over 9,000.

Union won eleven league titles between 1904 and 1935 and in 2025, after ninety years, became Belgian champions again. The club play in the Belgian Pro League. The most important Brussels match is the one against RSC Anderlecht. The supporters are known for an open, welcoming atmosphere.

For a visitor, Brussels is easy to reach: international trains stop at Brussels-South station, and a direct train runs from Brussels Airport to that station. We can put together a tailor-made football trip with ticket, accommodation and transport. Tickets for ordinary league matches are sometimes available; for the big matches it is different. We arrange official tickets and hospitality with a confirmed seat.

The stadium and how to get there

The Stade Joseph Marien is at Brusselsesteenweg (Chaussée de Bruxelles) 223 in Vorst, on the edge of Duden Park and close to the municipality of Sint-Gillis (Saint-Gilles), where the club was born. Tram 82 runs from Brussels-South (Bruxelles-Midi) station to the Union and Châtaignes stops. Trams 3 and 4 stop at Albert, and bus 52 also stops at the Union stop. Vorst-Oost (Forest-Est) railway station is about a quarter of an hour's walk away.

Hospitality at Union St. Gilloise

At Union Saint-Gilloise, hospitality is based in the limited business areas of the historic stadium. The difference with a regular ticket is the seat and the service: a good seat and food and drink before and after the match. Because the ground is small, there are few of these places. If you want to be sure of a seat, book well in advance, especially for a corporate guest or a group.

Practical information for matchday

Come well before kick-off and travel by public transport. Parking around the ground is difficult, as parking is paid in almost every street in Vorst. If you do come by car, you can park for free at the Stalle P+R and take tram 4 from there. If you come by train from the Netherlands or by plane, change to tram 82 at Brussels-South station. We can put together a tailor-made football trip with ticket, accommodation and transport.
