Football has been played on this site since 1926. The ground holds about 14,600. Sint-Truiden station is about a kilometre away, a fifteen-minute walk. Stayen is the home of STVV, the club known in Sint-Truiden as the Canaries, after the yellow colour of the shirt. The club play in the Jupiler Pro League, the top flight in Belgium. Since 2017 STVV have been in Japanese hands, and you can see it: in the squad, among the sponsors and in the name of the stadium.

The stadium is small and compact. The stands are close to the pitch and the ground has been renovated stand by stand in recent years. The big match of the year is the Limburg derby against KRC Genk. When Anderlecht, Club Brugge or Standard Liège visit, interest is high too.

Sint-Truiden lies in Haspengouw, the fruit-growing region of Belgian Limburg. The town has its own railway station with a direct intercity service to Leuven, Brussels, Ghent and Hasselt. Brussels Airport is about an hour's drive away. We can put together a tailor-made football trip with ticket, accommodation and transport. The stadium and how to get there

Stayen is on the Tiensesteenweg, on the west side of Sint-Truiden. Sint-Truiden station is about a kilometre away. On foot you are there in fifteen minutes, and from the Grote Markt in the centre it is also about a fifteen-minute walk. The station is on the line between Landen and Hasselt and has a direct intercity service to Leuven, Brussels and Ghent. The stadium complex also includes a hotel, Hotel Stayen.

Hospitality at St. Truiden

At STVV, hospitality is based in the business seats and lounges of the ground. The difference with a regular ticket is the seat and the service: a good seat and food and drink in a lounge before and after the match. In a stadium of this size you sit close to the pitch. That makes it a pleasant choice for a corporate guest or a small group.

Practical information for matchday

Come well before kick-off, as it gets busy around the ground on a matchday. If you travel by train, it is a fifteen-minute walk from the station to the ground. Parking near the stadium is limited. If you are coming from further afield, you can stay in Sint-Truiden itself or in Hasselt or Leuven, which are quick to reach by train. We can combine that in a tailor-made football trip with ticket, accommodation and transport. If you want to make a day of it, the centre of Sint-Truiden with the Grote Markt is within walking distance.
