Anoeta is the home of Real Sociedad, the club from San Sebastián who play in blue and white. The ground opened in 1993 as the successor to the old Atotxa. Between 2017 and 2019 it was thoroughly rebuilt: the athletics track disappeared and the stands moved much closer to the pitch. In summer 2026 just over 2,000 more seats were added, bringing the capacity to just over 42,000.

The match of the year is the Basque derby against Athletic Club from Bilbao. Then the ground is full and the atmosphere is at its peak. The visits of Real Madrid and Barcelona also draw a full house. Real Sociedad play in the Spanish LaLiga in the 2026/27 season.

For a visitor, San Sebastián is a beautiful destination: a beach in the heart of the city, an atmospheric old town and a cuisine famous all over the world. The stadium and how to get there

Anoeta is in the Amara district, about two kilometres south of the old town of San Sebastián. The stadium is part of the Anoeta sports complex. Euskotren's Anoeta station, served by lines E2 and E5, is right next to the ground. Dbus city buses, including routes 17, 24, 26 and 28, also stop on Paseo de Anoeta. On foot you can reach the stadium from the old town in about half an hour.

Hospitality at Real Sociedad

At Real Sociedad, hospitality is based in the boxes and lounges of the ground. The difference with a regular ticket is the seat and the service: a good seat, a separate entrance and food and drink in a lounge before and after the match. In a stadium where the crowd sits so close to the pitch it is a comfortable way to experience the game, especially for a corporate guest or a group.

Practical information for matchday

The gates open an hour before kick-off; arrive in good time. Travel by Euskotren train, by bus or on foot, as parking around the ground is limited. After the match Anoeta station can be busy; the walk back to the centre is a good alternative. If you want to make a day of it, the old town with its pintxos bars, La Concha beach and Mount Urgull are all within walking distance of each other.
