Carrow Road has been the home of Norwich City since 1935. The stadium was built in a few months in the summer of that year and has been modernised many times since. Today it holds just over 27,000. The club are known as the Canaries and play in yellow and green; in the 2026/27 season Norwich compete in the Championship.

Their biggest rivals are Ipswich Town. A match between the two is called the East Anglian derby, and then the ground is full and the atmosphere at its peak. Before every home match the crowd sings On the Ball, City, one of the oldest football songs in the world. The song is older than the club itself.

Norwich is a compact historic city with a cathedral, a castle and many old lanes. From London Liverpool Street a direct train takes about two hours to Norwich, and Norwich Airport has flights to destinations including Amsterdam. We also put together tailor-made football trips, with ticket, accommodation and transport. Tickets for ordinary league matches are often available; for the big matches it is different. We arrange official tickets and hospitality with a confirmed seat.

The stadium and how to get there

Carrow Road is on the east side of Norwich, close to the railway station and the River Wensum. From Norwich station it is less than a ten-minute walk to the ground: left via Koblenz Avenue or straight ahead through the Riverside leisure area. The old centre, with the cathedral and the castle, is within walking distance. On matchdays bus route 35 runs directly from the station and from Norwich Airport to the ground.

Hospitality at Norwich City

At Norwich City, hospitality is based in the restaurants, lounges and corporate areas of the ground. The difference with a regular ticket is the seat and the service: a good seat, a separate entrance and food and drink before and after the match. In a stadium with compact, packed stands it is a comfortable way to experience the game, especially for a corporate guest or a group.

Practical information for matchday

Come well before kick-off, as On the Ball, City is sung before the start of the match. The train or the bus is the best option; you can park at County Hall and in Trowse, a ten to twenty-minute walk away, and there are five Park & Ride sites around the city. If you are coming from further afield, a direct train runs from London Liverpool Street to Norwich, and Norwich Airport has flights to destinations including Amsterdam. We can arrange ticket, accommodation and transport together as a tailor-made football trip.
