Het Kuipje is the home of KVC Westerlo, a club from a small municipality in the Kempen that has been a fixture in the Belgian top flight for years. The ground is compact: four covered stands with seating and standing areas, close to the pitch. With just over 8,000 places it is one of the smaller stadiums in the top division.
The club took a long time to reach the top. Westerlo were only promoted to the top flight in 1997. In 2001 the club won the Belgian Cup, beating Lommel 1-0 in the final, and then played in the UEFA Cup. That cup win is still the high point of the club's history. Matches against the country's big clubs are the busiest of the season.
Westerlo is easy to combine with a visit to Antwerp or Mechelen; Brussels Airport is about 55 kilometres away. We can put together a tailor-made football trip with ticket, accommodation and transport. Tickets for ordinary league matches are often available; for the big matches it is different. We arrange official tickets and hospitality with a confirmed seat.
Het Kuipje is on De Merodedreef, on the edge of Westerlo. The stadium is surrounded by training pitches and car parks rather than housing. From the Grote Markt in the centre it is about a ten-minute walk. Westerlo itself has no railway station. The De Lijn bus links the municipality with Heist-op-den-Berg station, which has a rail connection to Antwerp.
At KVC Westerlo, hospitality is based in the business seats and boxes of the ground. The difference with a regular ticket is the seat and the service: a good seat and food and drink before and after the match. In a small ground like Het Kuipje you are also close to the pitch. That makes it a pleasant way to experience the game, especially for a corporate guest or a group.
Come well before kick-off. If you are travelling by public transport, check the bus times in advance, as buses are not very frequent and the options are limited after an evening match. By car, Westerlo is easy to reach via the E313 between Antwerp and Hasselt. The nearest major airport is Brussels Airport, about 55 kilometres away. We can put together a tailor-made football trip with ticket, accommodation and transport, for example with a hotel in Antwerp or Mechelen.
For ordinary league matches there is often availability. For visits from big clubs such as Club Brugge, Anderlecht and Genk they go quickly, as the ground is small; a package with a confirmed seat gives certainty then.
The price varies by opponent and by stand. This page shows the current from-price per type once we have availability for a match.

Yes. In 2001 Westerlo won the Belgian Cup, beating Lommel 1-0 in the final. The club then played in the UEFA Cup. It is the only major trophy in the club's history.
