Rugby Park is the home of Kilmarnock FC, founded in 1869 and therefore the oldest club in the Scottish Premiership. The club have played here since 1899. In 1994 and 1995 the ground gained three new stands and became a modern all-seater stadium. It holds just over 15,000. Since the summer of 2026 there has been a grass pitch again, reinforced with synthetic fibres.
Kilmarnock were Scottish champions in 1965 and have won the Scottish Cup three times and the League Cup once. The busiest matches are against Celtic and Rangers; then the ground is full. The historic rivals are Ayr United, with whom Kilmarnock contest the Ayrshire derby.
For a visitor, Kilmarnock combines well with Glasgow: the train from Glasgow Central gets there in about 40 minutes. Glasgow Airport and Glasgow Prestwick are the nearest airports, and we can put together a tailor-made football trip with ticket, accommodation and transport. Tickets for ordinary league matches are often available; for the big matches it is different. We arrange official tickets and hospitality with a confirmed seat.
Rugby Park is on Rugby Road, on the south-west side of Kilmarnock town centre. From the station it is a 15 to 20-minute walk to the ground: via John Finnie Street and Portland Road to South Hamilton Street and Rugby Road. Trains from Glasgow Central arrive about every half hour. The car park at the ground is for permit holders only, so parking is on the street or in a pay car park in the town centre. There is a hotel next to the ground.
At Kilmarnock, hospitality is based in the suites and lounges of the ground. The difference with a regular ticket is the seat and the service: a good seat and food and drink in a lounge before and after the match. In a ground of this size you sit close to the pitch, which makes it a pleasant way to experience the game, especially for a corporate guest or a group.
Come well before kick-off, especially for matches against Celtic and Rangers. Travel by train, as there are few parking spaces around the ground. After the match the route to the station gets busy; allow time for that if you want to catch a train back to Glasgow. If you fly to Scotland, Glasgow Airport and Glasgow Prestwick are the nearest. We can put together a tailor-made football trip with ticket, accommodation in Kilmarnock or Glasgow and transport.
For ordinary league matches there is often availability. For matches against Celtic and Rangers they go quickly; a package with a confirmed seat gives certainty then.
The price varies by opponent and by stand. This page shows the current from-price per type once we have availability for a match.
Take the train to Kilmarnock station, for example from Glasgow Central. From the station it is a 15 to 20-minute walk to the ground.
The club was founded in 1869, which makes it the oldest club in the Scottish Premiership. Kilmarnock have played at Rugby Park since 1899.
Not any more. Since the summer of 2026 there has been a hybrid grass pitch: mainly natural grass, reinforced with synthetic fibres.
