Easter Road has been the home of Hibernian, better known as Hibs, since 1893. Over the years the ground has been completely rebuilt: first the two ends, then the main stand and finally, in 2010, the east stand. The result is a compact ground with just over 20,000 seats and the crowd close to the pitch. Supporters also call it The Holy Ground.

The most important match of the year is the Edinburgh derby against Hearts, the club from the west of the city. Edinburgh's attendance record was set at Easter Road at that derby in 1950. The ground is full against Celtic and Rangers too. A well-known moment is Sunshine on Leith by The Proclaimers: thousands of supporters sing it with their scarves held high.

For a visitor, Edinburgh is a beautiful destination, with a historic centre and a ground within walking distance of the station. From Edinburgh Airport the tram runs directly to Leith Walk, and we can put together a tailor-made football trip with ticket, accommodation and transport. Tickets for ordinary league matches are often available; for the big matches it is different. We arrange official tickets and hospitality with a confirmed seat.

The stadium and how to get there

Easter Road is on the edge of the Leith district, in the north-east of Edinburgh, about two kilometres from the city centre. From Edinburgh Waverley station it is about a twenty-minute walk, via Leith Street, Leith Walk and London Road. The tram between the airport and Newhaven stops at McDonald Road on Leith Walk, a short walk from the ground. Many Lothian Buses services also run from Princes Street towards Leith.

Hospitality at Hibernian FC

At Hibernian, hospitality is based in the lounges and suites of the ground. The difference with a regular ticket is the seat and the service: a good seat, a separate entrance and food and drink in a lounge before and after the match. In a compact ground with plenty of atmosphere it is a comfortable way to experience the game, especially for a corporate guest or a group.

Practical information for matchday

Come well before kick-off, not least to catch Sunshine on Leith. There is no car park at the ground, so travel by tram, by bus or on foot from Waverley. From Edinburgh Airport the tram takes about half an hour to the city centre and continues to Leith Walk; we can arrange ticket, accommodation and transport together as a tailor-made football trip. If you want to make a day of it, the Royal Mile, the castle and the port of Leith are a short distance away.
