Dens Park is one of the oldest football grounds in Scotland. Dundee FC have played there since 1899. The main stand was designed by Archibald Leitch, the architect behind many classic British grounds. The stands behind the goals were rebuilt in 1999. The record attendance is 43,024, for a cup tie against Rangers in 1953. Today it holds almost 12,000.

What makes Dens Park special is its neighbour. Tannadice Park, the home of Dundee United, is on the same street, a few hundred metres away. Nowhere else in Britain are the grounds of two major clubs this close together. Both clubs play in the Scottish Premiership in 2026/27, so the derby is the match of the year in the city. When Celtic or Rangers visit, the ground is full as well.

Dundee lies on the Firth of Tay, on the east coast of Scotland. From Edinburgh the train takes about one to one and a half hours; direct buses run from Edinburgh Airport. We can put together a tailor-made football trip with ticket, accommodation and transport. Tickets for ordinary league matches are often available; for the big matches it is different. We arrange official tickets and hospitality with a confirmed seat.

The stadium and how to get there

Dens Park is on Sandeman Street, about one and a half kilometres north of the centre of Dundee. Dundee United's ground, Tannadice Park, is on the same street. From the city centre and the station it is about a half-hour walk. City buses also run from the centre, including bus 23 from Commercial Street. By car you arrive via the A90 Kingsway or, from the south, over the Tay Road Bridge.

Hospitality at Dundee

Dundee FC also offer hospitality at Dens Park. The difference with a regular ticket is the seat and the service: a good seat and food and drink before and after the match in a private area. In a small ground with this much character you are close to the pitch. That makes it a pleasant way to experience the game, especially for a corporate guest or a group.

Practical information for matchday

Come well before kick-off. On derby day the supporters of both clubs walk down the same street, so it is extra busy around the grounds. Parking in the area is limited; the bus or a walk from the centre is usually quicker. You can fly to Dundee via Edinburgh Airport and continue by bus, or by train via Edinburgh. We can put together a tailor-made football trip with ticket, accommodation and transport. If you want to make a day of it, the V&A Dundee museum and the waterfront on the Tay are in the city centre.
