The Stade Raymond Kopa is the home of Angers SCO, the black-and-white club from the capital of Anjou. The ground opened in 1912 as the Stade Bessonneau and since 2017 has carried the name of Raymond Kopa, who began his career in Angers and won the Ballon d'Or in 1958. In the years that followed, the stadium gained two new stands: the Colombier in 2018 and the Saint-Léonard in 2022. It now holds almost 20,000.

Angers play in Ligue 1 in the 2026/27 season. The match that matters most is the derby against FC Nantes, the neighbours further down the Loire. When Paris Saint-Germain, Olympique de Marseille or Olympique Lyonnais visit, the ground is well filled too. It is a compact stadium where you sit close to the pitch.

Angers is easy to reach: the TGV takes about an hour and a half from Paris Montparnasse to Angers Saint-Laud, and the nearest major airport is Nantes Atlantique. We can put together a tailor-made football trip with ticket, accommodation and transport. Tickets for ordinary league matches are often available; for the big matches it is different. We arrange official tickets and hospitality with a confirmed seat.

The stadium and how to get there

The Stade Raymond Kopa is in the south-east of Angers, in the Justices-Madeleine-Saint-Léonard district, on the Boulevard Pierre-de-Coubertin. The centre and the Château d'Angers are about two kilometres away. From Angers Saint-Laud station it is roughly a twenty to thirty-minute walk. City buses on the Irigo network stop near the ground. By car, take the A87 and follow the signs to the stadium.

Hospitality at Angers

At Angers SCO, hospitality is based mainly in the new Saint-Léonard stand, which opened in 2022 with boxes and reception areas. The difference with a regular ticket is the seat and the service: a good seat, a separate entrance and food and drink before and after the match. In a compact stadium like this you also sit close to the pitch. That makes it a pleasant way to experience a game, especially for a corporate guest or a group.

Practical information for matchday

Come well before kick-off, as the entrances can get busy. Parking near the ground is limited; walking from the centre or the station is often the easiest option. If you come by train from Paris, get off at Angers Saint-Laud, in the middle of the city. From abroad, fly into Nantes Atlantique or Paris and continue by train. We can put together a tailor-made football trip with ticket, accommodation and transport. If you want to make a day of it, the Château d'Angers and the old town are well worth a visit.
