The Orange Vélodrome is the beating heart of Marseille. Few clubs in France have as close a bond with their city as Olympique de Marseille, and you feel that everywhere on a matchday. The wave-shaped roofs and steep stands make the noise intense, with the Virage Sud and Virage Nord the loudest ends.

Marseille is a port city with a strong character, and the club is an extension of it. The atmosphere is passionate and at times raw, especially for Le Classique, the match against Paris Saint-Germain, one of the biggest fixtures in France.

For a visitor, Marseille is an appealing destination: sun, sea, a lively old port and a ground that is easy to reach by metro. The Orange Vélodrome is in the south of Marseille, about three kilometres from the old port. Metro line 2 has a Rond-Point du Prado stop about a two-minute walk from the ground. From the centre and the old port you take line 1 and change to line 2 at Castellane. Several bus routes stop nearby as well.

At Olympique de Marseille, official hospitality is based in the boxes and business areas of the ground. The difference with a regular ticket is the seat and the service: a good seat along the side, a separate entrance and food and drink in a lounge before and after the match. In a stadium with such an intense atmosphere it is a comfortable way to experience the game, especially for a corporate guest or a group.

Come well before kick-off and travel by metro, as parking near the ground is limited and it gets busy. Bring an ID. If you want to make a day of it, the old port, the Notre-Dame de la Garde basilica and the coast are a short metro ride or trip away.
