The Estádio dos Arcos is the home of Rio Ave, the club from Vila do Conde who play in green and white. The ground opened in 1984 and is small and easy to take in. Since the east stand was demolished at the end of 2020, it holds about 5,300. So wherever you sit, you are close to the pitch.

Rio Ave play in the Primeira Liga, the top division in Portugal, in 2026/27. The club have reached the cup final twice, in 1984 and 2014, and played in the Europa League group stage in 2014/15. The biggest matches are the visits of FC Porto, Benfica and Sporting. Many away fans travel with them and the ground fills up quickly. The historic rivals are Varzim from neighbouring Póvoa de Varzim.

Vila do Conde is on the Atlantic coast and connected by metro to Porto and Francisco Sá Carneiro airport. We can put together a tailor-made football trip with ticket, accommodation and transport. The Estádio dos Arcos is on the edge of Vila do Conde, an old port town on the Atlantic coast north of Porto. The ground lies between two stops on the red metro line B: Vila do Conde and Alto de Pêga. From the Vila do Conde stop it is a few minutes' walk to the stadium; the town centre is on the other side, about a ten-minute walk away. From the centre of Porto, line B towards Póvoa de Varzim runs directly to Vila do Conde.

The Estádio dos Arcos is a small ground with a single main stand. Hospitality here is therefore limited and small-scale. The difference with a regular ticket is the seat and the service: a good seat in the main stand and food and drink before or after the match. Because availability is small, it is wise to opt early for a package with a confirmed seat for a big match.

試合当日の実用情報

Travel by metro. From the centre of Porto the journey on line B takes about an hour. From Francisco Sá Carneiro airport, take line E and change at Verdes to line B towards Póvoa de Varzim. Come well before kick-off, as the platform and the area around the ground get busy when FC Porto and Benfica visit. If you want to make a day of it, the beach and the old centre of Vila do Conde are within walking distance.
