The Estadio Carlos Tartiere is the home of Real Oviedo, the club from the capital of Asturias. The ground opened in 2000 and replaced the old stadium of the same name, which stood a few hundred metres away. Both are named after Carlos Tartiere, the club's first president. With just over 30,000 seats it is the largest stadium in the region.

Real Oviedo are a club with a loyal following. After a steep fall in 2003 the club climbed back step by step, and in 2012 supporters from all over the world helped save the club by buying shares. The biggest match of the season is the Asturian derby against Sporting Gijón from the coastal city nearby. Then the stadium is full and the atmosphere is at its peak.

For a visitor, Oviedo is a pleasant destination: a compact historic centre, the green countryside of Asturias and a ground within walking distance. Asturias airport is about 40 kilometres away, with a bus link to the city, and Oviedo has a rail link with Madrid. The Estadio Carlos Tartiere is in the La Ería district, by the Parque del Oeste, about two kilometres from Oviedo's historic centre. The stadium is partly sunk into a valley, so the south side sits lower than the surrounding houses. From the centre and from the railway station it is a walk of twenty to thirty minutes. City buses also run to the ground. Between the centre and the stadium is the Modoo shopping centre.

At Real Oviedo, hospitality is based in the skyboxes and corporate seats of the ground. The difference with a regular ticket is the seat and the service: a good seat, a separate entrance and food and drink before and after the match. At a sell-out derby it is a comfortable way to experience the game, especially for a corporate guest or a group.

試合当日の実用情報

Come well before kick-off. Walking from the centre is often easiest, as parking near the ground is limited and it is busy after the match. Bring a warm coat, as the open corners can make the stadium chilly. If you are coming from further afield, fly to Asturias airport and take the bus to the city, or travel by train. We can combine ticket, accommodation and transport in a tailor-made football trip. If you want to make a day of it, the old town is a short walk away and the stadium has a club museum.
