The Eintracht-Stadion has been the home of Eintracht Braunschweig since 1923. The stadium is on the Hamburger Straße in the north of the city and was renovated and expanded in phases between 1993 and 2013. For football matches it holds 23,325, of whom more than 10,000 on terracing.
Eintracht Braunschweig were founded in 1895 and in 1963 were one of the founding members of the Bundesliga. In 1967 the club became German champions. In the 2026/27 season Eintracht play in the 2. Bundesliga, together with arch-rivals Hannover 96 and neighbours VfL Wolfsburg. The Niedersachsenderby against Hannover is the match of the year.
Braunschweig Hauptbahnhof has an hourly ICE to Berlin and Frankfurt, and InterCity connections to Hanover and Leipzig.
