Balaídos is one of the oldest stadiums in Spain. Celta have played there since 1928, and in 1982 it hosted World Cup matches. Since 2015 the ground has been redeveloped stand by stand. The final step is a new stand behind the goal, the Gol, which will bring capacity back towards 30,000.

Celta are the club of Vigo and one of the two big clubs in Galicia. The biggest match is the Galician derby against Deportivo from A Coruña. The visits of Real Madrid, Barcelona and Atlético Madrid also draw a full house. Because there are fewer seats during the building work, availability for those matches is even more limited.

For a visitor, Vigo is a great destination: a port city on the Atlantic coast, with the old Casco Vello quarter and the Cíes Islands on its doorstep. The city has its own airport, Vigo-Peinador, and the airports of Santiago de Compostela and Porto are in the region. The Abanca-Balaídos is in the south-west of Vigo, on Avenida de Balaídos, about three kilometres from the historic centre. Several Vitrasa city buses run from the centre to the ground. After the match Vitrasa runs extra services from Avenida de Fragoso back to the centre. Vigo-Urzáiz railway station is about five kilometres away; by taxi it takes about fifteen minutes. Vigo-Peinador Airport is about ten kilometres from the city.

At Celta, hospitality is based in the business seats and lounges of the ground. The difference with a regular ticket is the seat and the service: a good seat, a separate entrance and food and drink in a lounge before and after the match. In a stadium with fewer seats during the building work, it gives certainty about your place, especially for a corporate guest or a group.

試合当日の実用情報

Come well before kick-off and travel by bus or taxi, as parking near the ground is limited. Bear in mind that work is going on around the Gol stand during the redevelopment; follow the signs to your entrance. After the match extra buses run back to the centre. If you are coming from far away, you can fly into Vigo, Santiago de Compostela or Porto; we can arrange your ticket, hotel and transport together in a tailor-made football trip. If you want to make a day of it, the Casco Vello and the harbour are a short distance away.
