The Abbey Stadium has been the home of Cambridge United, the club known as The U's, since 1932. It is a small, traditional English ground with a mix of seated stands and terraces. It holds almost 8,000, so you are close to the pitch. In 2026/27 Cambridge United play in League One, the third tier of English football.

The biggest match is the Cambridgeshire derby against Peterborough United, who also play in League One. Then the ground is full and the atmosphere is at its peak. Because the ground is small, even an ordinary match can sell out, especially at the weekend.

Cambridge is a beautiful old university city and easy to reach. From Stansted Airport a direct train takes about half an hour to Cambridge, and from London the train journey is around 45 minutes. We can put together a tailor-made football trip with ticket, accommodation and transport. Tickets for ordinary league matches are often available; for the big matches it is different. We arrange official tickets and hospitality with a confirmed seat.

The Abbey Stadium is on Newmarket Road in the Abbey area, about 3 kilometres east of Cambridge city centre. The nearest station is Cambridge North, a 15 to 20-minute walk away, partly along a cycle path across the city's green meadows. From Cambridge station, the main station, it is about a half-hour walk. Bus C3 runs from the main station through the centre to Newmarket Road, with a stop close to the ground.

At Cambridge United, hospitality is based in the corporate areas of the Abbey Stadium. The difference with a regular ticket is the seat and the service: a good seat, food and drink before the match and a quiet place to start the day. In a small ground like this it is a personal way to experience the game, especially for a corporate guest or a small group.

試合当日の実用情報

Arrive well before kick-off, as the ground is small and the entrances are narrow. There is no parking at the ground itself. Come by train, by bus or on foot; on matchdays there is also a Park & Ride at Cambridge Airport, a 10 to 15-minute walk from the ground. If you are coming from further afield, you could fly into Stansted and take the direct train to Cambridge from there. We can put together a tailor-made football trip with ticket, accommodation and transport. If you want to make a day of it, the old colleges and the River Cam are a short distance from the centre.
