The ground opened in 2005 and holds 6,912, of whom just over 2,000 are seated. Burton railway station is about a 25-minute walk away; a Trent Barton bus runs from the station to the ground. The Pirelli Stadium is a compact, modern ground with terracing on three sides. Only the main stand on the south side has seats. The crowd stands close to the pitch and there are no pillars blocking the view. Burton Albion play in League One in 2026/27, the third tier of English football.

Burton Albion are known as 'The Brewers', after the breweries the town is famous for. The club joined the Football League in 2009 and spent two seasons in the Championship. In 2019 Burton reached the semi-finals of the League Cup. In League One, Notts County are a well-known rival; with Derby County the rivalry is mostly a friendly one.

Burton upon Trent is in the middle of England, with trains to Birmingham, Derby and Nottingham. The nearest airport is East Midlands Airport, about 30 kilometres away. Burton railway station is about 2.5 kilometres away; on foot it takes around 25 minutes via Derby Street. The Trent Barton bus runs from the station through the centre to the ground in about six minutes. The ground has its own car park.

At Burton Albion, hospitality is based in the main stand on the south side, the only stand with seats. The difference with a regular ticket is the seat and the service: a good seat, a separate entrance and food and drink in a lounge before and after the match. In a ground that is mostly terracing it is a comfortable way to experience the game, especially for a corporate guest or a group.

Arrive well before kick-off; the turnstiles open about an hour and a half before the match. The car park at the ground is limited and once it is full, it is full; the bus from the station is a good alternative. If you are travelling from further afield, come via East Midlands Airport or by train via Birmingham or Derby.
