The SchücoArena is the home of Arminia Bielefeld. The first match was played here in 1926; between 1996 and 2008 the stadium was renewed stand by stand. To supporters it is still the Alm. It holds 26,750, of whom more than 8,000 on terracing, and the stadium sits in the middle of a residential area, close to the centre.
Arminia Bielefeld were founded in 1905 and have been promoted to the Bundesliga eight times. In 2025 the club reached the DFB-Pokal final as a third-tier side. In the 2026/27 season Arminia play in the 2. Bundesliga. The match against VfL Osnabrück, just over forty kilometres away and in the same league, counts as a derby.
