The Estádio Municipal de Braga is one of the most remarkable stadiums in Europe. It was carved out of an old quarry, which is why it is popularly known as A Pedreira, the quarry. Behind one of the goals there is no stand, just a rock face. It was designed by the architect Eduardo Souto de Moura, who later won the Pritzker Prize, the most important award in architecture. The stadium opened in 2003, and a year later it hosted matches at Euro 2004.

SC Braga play in the Primeira Liga and have been a fixture at the top of Portuguese football and in Europe for years. The most highly charged match is the Minho derby against Vitória de Guimarães, from the neighbouring city just over twenty kilometres away. When Benfica, FC Porto or Sporting visit, the stadium is well filled too.

Braga is an old city with many churches and a lively centre, and the stadium is close by. The nearest airport is Porto, about 50 kilometres away; trains also run from Porto to Braga. We can put together a tailor-made football trip with ticket, accommodation and transport. Tickets for ordinary league matches are often available; for the big matches it is different. We arrange official tickets and hospitality with a confirmed seat.

Stadion, og hvordan du kommer dertil

The stadium is on the northern slope of the Monte do Castro hill, in the Dume sports park, on the north side of Braga. The historic centre is within walking distance, roughly 1.5 to 2 kilometres away. The walk takes about fifteen minutes to half an hour and is gently uphill. Braga railway station is on the edge of the centre; from there too you can walk or take a taxi. There are few restaurants right around the stadium, so it is best to eat in town beforehand.

Hospitality hos SC Braga

At SC Braga, hospitality is based in the business seats and lounges of the stadium. The difference with a regular ticket is the seat and the service: a good seat in the main stand, a separate entrance and food and drink in a lounge before and after the match. In a stadium with such a striking view of the rock face, it is a comfortable way to experience the game, especially for a corporate guest or a group.

Praktisk på kampdagen

Come well before kick-off. The stadium only has stands along the two long sides; behind the goals there is open space and the rock face. Parking at the stadium is limited; walking from the centre or taking a taxi usually works better. If you fly into Porto, a bus runs from the airport to Braga and there is also a train from Porto; allow about an hour. If you want to make a day of it, Braga's old centre and the Bom Jesus do Monte sanctuary are well worth a visit.
