Athletic Bilbao play at San Mamés, in the middle of the Basque city of Bilbao. The current ground opened in 2013 on the site of the old San Mamés and holds just over 53,000. The atmosphere is known as one of the hottest in Spain, carried by a unique club with a strong Basque identity. San Mamés metro station is right next to the ground. For the top matches tickets go quickly.

Programme
San Mamés, nicknamed La Catedral, is one of the most distinctive grounds in Europe. Athletic Bilbao are unique: the club fields only players from the Basque Country, and that bond with the region makes the atmosphere on a matchday intense and proud. The steep stands and the closed roof hold the noise in.
The modern ground, with its distinctive facade of twisted panels that lights up at night, replaced the historic old San Mamés on almost the same site in 2013. The support brought its traditions to the new stadium.
For a visitor, Bilbao is a beautiful destination, with the Guggenheim Museum, a lively centre and a ground with the metro right at the door. Tickets for ordinary league matches are often available; for the top games and European nights it is different. We arrange official tickets and hospitality with a confirmed seat.
San Mamés is central in Bilbao, by the River Nervión. San Mamés metro station, on lines 1 and 2, has an exit that opens right at the ground. Several tram and bus routes also stop nearby. From the centre you reach the ground in a few minutes by metro.
At Athletic Bilbao, official hospitality is based in the palcos and lounges of San Mamés. The difference with a regular ticket is the seat and the service: a good seat, a separate entrance and food and drink in a lounge before and after the match. In a ground with such an intense atmosphere it is a comfortable way to experience the game, especially for a corporate guest or a group.
Come well before kick-off and travel by metro to San Mamés station, right next to the ground. Bring an ID, as in Spain the ticket check often asks for a document. If you want to make a day of it, the Guggenheim Museum and the historic centre of Bilbao are close by.
For ordinary league matches there is often availability. For the top games and European nights they go quickly; a package with a confirmed seat gives certainty then.
The price varies by opponent and by stand. This page shows the current from-price per type once we have availability for a match.
